What is Palmistry?
Palmistry has been around for thousands of years, with systems found across cultural and linguistic boundaries. We can thank the Greeks for the terminology used today however, as the Greek word "Cheiro" meaning "hand" is often used to describe the various forms of palmistry.
The technical name for palmistry is Cheirosophy, and is and divided into two principal sections: Cheirognomy and Cheiromancy.
Cheirognomy interprets the shape, structure and outward formation of the hand, while Cheiromancy is the science of reading the events of the past, present and future lives, in the lines and formations of the palms of the hand.
Dermatoglyphics is yet another form of hand analysis. Peter Ward defines dermatoglyphics in "Life Lines" as the study of skin patterns, basically genetic and biological effect shown in the hands. The patterns show oneís attitude towards life, influencing the shape of the hand and this, in turn affects the lines.
Similar to learning a language, anybody can learn how to read the hand, interpret its ever-changing line formations (Yes! The lines DO change!), and assist others in their journey towards authenticity and health.

Palmistry Workshop Series
Palmistry is simultaneously a language and a way of knowing. As such, it can be learned.
The 2009 Palmistry Workshop Series will be offered in Peterborough this Fall, providing a thorough learning experience for interested students within a reasonable time-frame and for an accessible price. It offers an opportunity for seekers to learn the art and science of interpreting the hand professionally, in a small group setting. Each half-day workshop (five in total) is facilitated by Melanie Ollenberg, incorporating multiple learning techniques and frank discussions about the skills and personal aspects involved in providing ethical, professional palmistry services.

Verbal Readings
$100 pp. Family Rates Negotiable.
Description: The reading involves taking a computer scan of your palm, and outlines health, transformational events, career options, satisfaction and purpose / direction in life. It also includes a translation of types and degrees of stresses, personality characteristics, energy levels in different areas of life, and protective / threatening patterns along your path. |
Ink Print Analysis
$500 pp.
Description: This is a lengthy process, involving an ink print analysis of your palm across a number of palmistry techniques and teachings. Information covered includes timelines, career options, fingerprint analysis, undercurrent print analysis, in addition to that included in the verbal reading. Upon completion, you receive several beautiful copies of your palm, etched with esoteric symbolism, and 4-6 pages of typewritten analysis.
Group Events $80 per hour (20-25 minute readings), or $350 for 5 one- hour readings. |
Organizational Consultation
Description:Palmistry can be a helpful assessment tool in the hiring and employee development process, and particularly powerful if combined with other forms of personality assessments. With this service, We analyze the palms of employees and management in light of a position's task-description as well as the team or company's strategic directions. Staff receive individual summaries, and employers receive a report that identifies individual personality traits, suggestions to improve communications between employees, and information for employers as to how to best utilize the capacity of their staff to achieve a company's mission and strategic directions. Palmistry is also a unique and interesting benefit to improve self-understanding among staff, and can be a unique perk for working within your organization. |
Events
Description: Palmistry readings and workshops can be offered to groups (conferences, parties, festivals, fundraisers, reunions, etc.) in a variety of formats. There are a variety of creative formats for readings, so the style and time frame can be negotiated (within reason) to accommodate varying ages, venues, and styles without compromising professionalism.

Healing Team Collaboratives
Description: For centuries, palmistry has been used as a counselling and medical assessment tool. Keeping in mind that the lines of a palm change with the choices that one makes along their journey, Kore Changes staff partner with wellness teams to enhance client access to palmistry as a personal tool in their healing journey, to offer another perspective for collaborating healers to do their work, and to monitor the client's progress along their healing journey via monthly scans of the palm. Palmistry is particularly helpful for clients preparing to leave an old way, and embrace a healthier shift towards self-actualization. |
